MEDPODJETNIŠKI IZOBRAŽEVALNI CENTER
MIC predstavlja proizvodno-storitveno enoto centra, ki ima poleg vzgojno-izobraževalne tudi podjetniško vlogo. Udeležencem izobraževanj MIC omogoča pridobitev poklicnih kompetenc, ki so bodisi postavljene na nivoju posameznega programa ali zgolj vednosti, spretnosti, znanja, ki jih pridobi udeleženec na posameznem tečaju, delavnici, predavanju, konferenci ipd. Preko izobraževalnih procesov, ki sledijo potrebam na trgu dela in vključujejo učne situacije, ki se sicer izvajajo v posameznih panogah, MIC ustvarja učno okolje, ki omogoča udeležencem nadgradnjo in pridobitev znanj, spretnosti in kompetenc. Na določenih področjih MIC deluje v realnih okoliščinah na trgu blaga in storitev. Pri tem je tak način najbolj učinkovit način usposabljanja v poklicnem in strokovnem izobraževanju, saj ne gre samo za to, da udeleženec nauči, izuri v določenih veščinah, ampak gre za poklicno socializacijo, izgradnjo odnosov, timsko delo, zavedanje o pomembnosti doseganja določene kvalitete, odgovornost do dela, itd.
S sodelovanjem z izobraževalnimi in razvojnimi ustanovami ter gospodarstvom z izvajanjem nacionalnih in mednarodnih projektov zagotavljamo razvoj poklicnih in ključnih kompetenc in tako prispevamo k razvoju regije.
Delovanje MIC-a je organizirano v 10 oddelkih, ki so aktivni na določenih področjih biotehnike.
