In the course the participants will explore how to:

- Develop confidence in identifying common trees and plants found in various landscapes
- Diagnose soil properties to support tree growth and development.
- Identify the most common urban tree species.
- Understand the importance of “Right tree, right place, right way, right time”.
- Identify the most important urban tree diseases and pests.
- Perform tree assessment.
- Evaluate the methods and guidelines for tree care measures.
Schedule of the contents
DAY 1: Tree Biology and Pedology
- Upon arrival, participants will be warmly welcomed and introduced to the course.
- The morning session will delve into the fascinating world of tree biology, exploring topics such as growth patterns, nutrient uptake, and ecological interactions through engaging group activities.
- In the afternoon, we will shift our focus to pedology, examining the soil properties essential for healthy tree growth and sustainable land management.
DAY 2: Tree/plant ID and Selection
- In the morning, participants will sharpen their skills in tree and plant identification, learning to recognize key species and their distinguishing features.
